Sophie Pribojszki (született Pribojszki Zsófia, Békéscsaba, 1946. június 2.) magyar származású festő- és szobrászművész. 1986 óta részben Magyarországon, részben Franciaországban, Párizsban él. Tagja a francia Syndicat National des Artistes Professionels (SNAP), a Hivatásos Művészek Nemzeti Szövetségének és az Európai Képzőművészek Társaságának.
Tanulmányok és korai pálya
Tanulmányait Budapesten folytatta, majd 1976-ban házassága révén Belgiumba költözött, itt élt 1986-ig. A Genti Királyi Művészeti Akadémián tanult festészetet. Hosszú időn keresztül tanulmányozta az európai festészet nagy klasszikusait: P. P. Rubens, J. Van Eyck, P. Bruegel, De Smet, Permeke. Különös hatást jelentett munkásságára Marc Chagall.
Párizs és a nemzetközi pálya
Gent, St. Martin Laatem és Brüsszel után Párizs felé fordult. 1986-ban elfogadták munkáit a Nagy Szalonban (Salon des Indépendants, Párizs), ahol két alkotását mutatta be: a Salomé és az Életfa című képeit. Párizs a szabad gondolkodást, szabad lélekkel, szabad szemmel történő alkotói világot jelentette Pribojszki festészetében. 1986-tól gyakran tartózkodik Párizsban.
Szakmai barátságba került Jean Monneret neves festőművésszel, a Nagy Szalon elnökével. Gilbert Baglione és Petit Jean barátságát, szakmai útmutatását élvezte. Megismerkedett Fernando Boteroval, együtt állítottak ki a Salon des Indépendants-ban.
Szalonok és aukciók
1988-ban meghívást kapott a Salon Violet-be, majd a Salon d'Automne-ba. A Christie's Amsterdam nemzetközi hírű aukciósházban kerültek kalapács alá munkái (Körhinta), majd ezt követően a Phillips Blendstock House londoni árverésén kelt el több munkája (Kávéházban, Café de Paris). Különös érdeklődéssel tanulmányozta Miró, Picasso és Kandinsky munkásságát.
Izraeli és hazai inspirációk
Izraelbe utazott, ahol személyesen találkozott Chagall üvegmunkáival a Hadassah Centerben (Jeruzsálem), ami nagy hatással volt festészetére. Történelmi témájú képeket festett, elkészültek a Mózes és a Krisztus kiűzi a kufárokat című képei.
Hazai kiállítások sora következett: Békéscsaba (Munkácsy Mihály Múzeum), Szeged (Bartók Béla-terem), Nyíregyháza (Paál László-terem), Kiskunhalas, Zalaegerszeg (Zsinagóga Kulturális Központ, ahol Kobajasi Kenicsiró japán karmester és a Magyar Állami Hangversenyzenekar koncertjével egybekötött kiállítást rendeztek).
Nemzetközi sikerek
1994-ben Japánban, az oszakai Sony Centerben rendezett nemzetközi kiállításon vett részt, munkáját elismeréssel honorálták (I. Prix). 1995-ben meghívást kapott az USA-ba, Miamiba, a francia-amerikai kortársművészek fesztiváljára, ahol a zsűri különdíját (Certificate of Distinction) ítélték neki.
1997-ben a Budapesti Operaház szalonjában nyílt önálló kiállítása. 2000 tavaszán a békéscsabai Jókai Színház Vigadó Galériájában Zene és tánc címmel 28 alkotásával mutatkozott be.
A világ számos rangos nemzetközi kiállításán szerepelnek alkotásai: Párizs, Brüsszel, Budapest, Washington, Miami, Oszaka, Hong-Kong.
2000-es évek: Párizs, Marseille, Côte d'Azur
2001-ben Párizsba, a Pompidou Központ művésznegyedébe kapott meghívást, az Art Present Galériában önálló kiállításon 26 munkáját mutatták be. 2002-ben Marseille-ben, a SIAC nemzetközi kortárs művészeti kiállításon 16 munkával vett részt.
Saint-Tropez-ba a Salon des Leopards felkérésére utazott, majd sorra a Côte d'Azur galériák (GamArt Port Fréjus, Modern Art Gallery Nizza) keresték munkáit. 2002-ben megkapta az Aranyvászon-díjat (Toile d'Or). 2004-ben újra Saint-Tropez-be hívták, ahol Medaille d'Or elismerést kapott.
2006-ban ismét Budapesten kerültek bemutatásra alkotásai: 22 művét állították ki a Belvedere Galériában.
Szobrászat és újabb kiállítások
2011-ben meghívást kapott a Munkácsy Mihály Múzeumba (Békéscsaba), ahol Zene, tánc, szerelem címmel nyílt rangos önálló kiállítása. 2012 óta szobrokat is készít: stilizált táncoló bronz figurái szervesen kapcsolódnak festményeihez.
2015-ben Szolnokra kapott meghívást, az Aba Novák Agora kiállítótermében Tánc a legszebb földi varázs címmel nyílt sikeres kiállítása, ahol 22 festményét és 16 kisplasztikáját láthatta a közönség.
2020-ban Művészeti Életpálya Elismerést kapott az emberi erőforrások miniszterétől. 2022-ben budapesti kiállítása volt a KesziArt - Bartók1 Galériában.

"Pribojszki Zsófia nem a látvány tilalomfái által kijelölt csapáson halad. Bőven áradó, színekben tobzódó, motívumokban gazdag képzeletének a kézzelfogható, szemmel kitapintható realitás távolról sem bizonyult elégségesnek. Kisujjában van mindaz a figurális törekvés, amelyet a XX. század festészete magáénak vall, de nem szegődik kizárólagosan egyikük nyomába sem."

Sophie Pribojszki (born Zsofia Pribojszki, Bekescsaba, June 2, 1946) is a Hungarian painter and sculptor. Since 1986 she has lived partly in Hungary and partly in France, in Paris. She is a member of the French Syndicat National des Artistes Professionels (SNAP), the National Association of Professional Artists, and the European Society of Visual Artists.
Studies and early career
She pursued her studies in Budapest, then moved to Belgium in 1976 through marriage, living there until 1986. She studied painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. For a long time she studied the great European masters: P. P. Rubens, J. Van Eyck, P. Bruegel, De Smet, Permeke. Marc Chagall had a particular influence on her work.
Paris and the international career
After Ghent, St. Martin Laatem and Brussels, she turned toward Paris. In 1986 her works were accepted at the Grand Salon (Salon des Independants, Paris), where she exhibited two pieces: Salome and Tree of Life. Paris represented a world of free thought and creation with a free spirit and open eyes in Pribojszki's painting. She has often stayed in Paris since 1986.
She formed a professional friendship with the renowned painter Jean Monneret, president of the Grand Salon. She enjoyed the friendship and professional guidance of Gilbert Baglione and Petit Jean. She met Fernando Botero and exhibited together with him at the Salon des Independants.
Salons and auctions
In 1988 she was invited to the Salon Violet and then to the Salon d'Automne. Her works went under the hammer at Christie's Amsterdam, the internationally renowned auction house (Carousel), and subsequently several of her works sold at Phillips Blendstock House in London (At the Cafe, Cafe de Paris). She studied the work of Miro, Picasso and Kandinsky with particular interest.
Israeli and domestic inspirations
She travelled to Israel, where she personally encountered Chagall's glass works at the Hadassah Center (Jerusalem), which had a strong influence on her painting. She painted historical subjects, completing her Moses and Christ Driving the Moneychangers from the Temple.
A series of domestic exhibitions followed: Bekescsaba (Munkacsy Mihaly Museum), Szeged (Bela Bartok Hall), Nyiregyhaza (Laszlo Paal Hall), Kiskunhalas, Zalaegerszeg (Synagogue Cultural Center, where they held an exhibition combined with a concert by Japanese conductor Kenichiro Kobayashi and the Hungarian State Concert Orchestra).
International achievements
In 1994 she participated in an international exhibition in Japan at the Sony Center in Osaka, where her work was honoured with recognition (I. Prix). In 1995 she was invited to the USA, to Miami, for the French-American contemporary artists festival, where the jury awarded her a Certificate of Distinction.
In 1997 she had a solo exhibition in the salon of the Budapest Opera House. In spring 2000 she presented 28 works at the Vigado Gallery of the Jokai Theatre in Bekescsaba under the title Music and Dance.
Her works appear at numerous prestigious international exhibitions around the world: Paris, Brussels, Budapest, Washington, Miami, Osaka, Hong Kong.
2000s: Paris, Marseille, Cote d'Azur
In 2001 she was invited to Paris, to the artists' quarter of the Pompidou Center, where 26 of her works were shown in a solo exhibition at the Art Present Gallery. In 2002 she participated in Marseille at the SIAC international contemporary art fair with 16 works.
She travelled to Saint-Tropez at the invitation of the Salon des Leopards, then galleries along the Cote d'Azur sought her work (GamArt Port Frejus, Modern Art Gallery Nice). In 2002 she received the Toile d'Or (Golden Canvas) award. In 2004 she was invited again to Saint-Tropez, where she received the Medaille d'Or.
In 2006 her works were again presented in Budapest: 22 of her pieces were exhibited at the Belvedere Gallery.
Sculpture and recent exhibitions
In 2011 she was invited to the Munkacsy Mihaly Museum (Bekescsaba), where she opened a prestigious solo exhibition titled Music, Dance, Love. Since 2012 she has also created sculptures: her stylised bronze dancing figures are organically linked to her paintings.
In 2015 she was invited to Szolnok, where she opened a successful exhibition at the Aba Novak Agora gallery titled Dance is the Most Beautiful Earthly Magic, where the public could see 22 of her paintings and 16 small sculptures.
In 2020 she received a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts recognition from the Minister of Human Resources. In 2022 she had an exhibition in Budapest at the KesziArt - Bartok1 Gallery.
Artistic characterisation
"Zsofia Pribojszki does not follow the path marked by the barriers of spectacle. The tangible, visually palpable reality has by no means proved sufficient for her abundantly flowing imagination, rich in colours and motifs. She has at her fingertips all the figurative aspirations that twentieth-century painting claims as its own, yet she does not exclusively follow in the footsteps of any one of them."
